Axeri dantza, herri baten erritua

Overview

The axeri dantza is a traditional dance from the villages of Andoáin and Aduna in Guipúzcoa. Moving beyond a chronological account, this documentary examines the journey from the revival of the dance in 1975 to the present day, focusing on key moments such as the first time women took part in it. ‘Axeri dantza, the rite of a village’, whilst deeply human, is an almost anthropological study of the changes within a ritual and the emotional consequences it has on the community that practises it.
