Cave Connection

Overview

Disclaimer: This experimental mixed-media film is part of an interactive installation but can also be experienced as a standalone mixed-media work. Its starting point is the question of which fundamental needs have remained unchanged from the Stone Age to the present, once food, water, and shelter are secured. The answer lies in the human being as a social creature: relationships and closeness are essential for survival. Filmed digitally, re-filmed on and transferred to Super 8, the work explores human encounter through hands alone—moving from distance to intimacy, culminating in physical and emotional union. The hands become a surface for projecting emotion and sensual experience.
