Overview
In the beginning days of the 1979 Revolution, a small group (Zhe-3) attacks the small theater (Tehran Theater Workshop), and after arresting Abbas Nalbandian and his assistant, they set fire to the books and writings there and seal the workshop entrance with mud. After his release from Evin Prison, Abbas Nalbandian commits suicide under psychological pressure, and Iran loses one of its best playwrights. Several members of the workshop who have been left unemployed go to a coffeehouse and propose to its owner that the Shahnameh be staged. This is a play within a play that intertwines and, in a way, compares the events of that time with the narratives of the Shahnameh.
