Overview

In 1990 Haji Jalil lives in a mountain village of Bingöl. He sends his three married sons to Germany to work, hoping they can remedy his financial difficulties. On a snowy winter day, he learns that one of his sons has died, but it’s not clear which one. The uncertainty uncovers some buried emotions within the family. The next morning, since their village has no telephone, Haji Jalil goes to the neighboring village to place a call to find out. All day his sisters-in-law and mother await the news that he will bring.
