Overview

In the Ptolemaic model of the universe, the fixed stars mark the boundary of the celestial sphere. Humanity has always used the stars to measure time. The Cassini-Huygens probe, with the tens of thousands of images it managed to send back to Earth, is an extension of the human gaze upon the universe. The eye generates or perceives illusions, such as fixed stars. Time is a way of seeing. Time is the last and most remote of the fixed stars. The images in this film come from NASA's Cassini-Huygens archive. The Cassini-Huygens space mission sent nearly 400,000 photographs from deep space back to Earth between 2004 and 2017.
