Overview

Nick and Claire seem like the perfect couple. Sure, there are moments when Claire's desire to be a well-meaning ally veers into "white savior" territory, like when she urges Nick to confront what she perceives as judgmental looks directed at them for being a biracial couple. Nick seems to be accustomed to these interactions; he plays along, and life moves on. At least, it does until the day Nick is murdered outside their apartment. Consumed by grief and knowing that the criminal justice system tends to disregard the thorough investigation and prosecution of crimes perpetrated against Black people, Claire embarks on her own search for the truth about Nick’s death. Her determination soon places her in the crosshairs of a sinister killer who is determined to ensure that she never gets out of her apartment complex alive.
