Overview

"Si estuvieras"... is an experimental short film that explores the stages of grief through a visual and emotional sequence. After the absence of a loved one, the inner world of the person who remains begins to transform, moving through denial, anger, sadness, and ultimately, acceptance. Through memories, silences, and everyday moments that now exist only in memory, Dulce confronts Isaac’s absence as her mind fills with images that blend past and present. Photographs, distant laughter, and small shared moments reveal the depth of a love that endures even when someone is no longer there. Through a sensory and symbolic narrative, "Si estuvieras"… invites the viewer to contemplate death from a different perspective: not only as an ending, but as an inevitable part of the cycle of life—where nostalgia, memory, and the beauty of what was lived continue to accompany us.
