Overview
The potato is the third most widely consumed food in the world, with 3,500 varieties and dozens of ways to cook it. The film's eminently positive aim is to open a window of reflection on the importance and beauty of biodiversity. In Inca mythology, Axomama is the goddess of the potato, daughter of Pachamama, goddess of the earth. The documentary offers both a historical perspective and an aesthetic and artistic view of this tuber. The director, Jean Louis Gonterre, has been photographing potatoes for over 30 years and has exhibited his work in many countries.
