Music video directed and animated by Rabbit MACHINE for the song Thoughtcrime by Yorushika. The theme of thoughtcrime is plagiarized from George Orwell's novel, "1984." Then, the moment it was declared that it's plagiarized, the plagiarized work changed form into a homage. The line between doing plagiarism and doing a homage seems ambiguous, and the truth is that that line doesn't exist anywhere. It holds true even when the role is reversed. A homage holds a great risk of becoming plagiarism. The lyrics to this song pays homage to Ozaki Housai's haiku and his final years of life. (Source: YouTube)

The End

Avant GardeDramaMusic

THE END is an opera birthed out of the collaboration between Keiichirou Shibuya, director and script writer Toshiki Okada, and illustrator YKBX. This production does not feature any humans, and replacing all familiar elements of the non-existent singers and orchestras are aria and recitative by Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid, with a story told by computer-made music and visuals. This production tests taking the traditional tragic structure of an opera asking "What is death?" and "What is an end?" and puts Hatsune Miku as the mediator to reread it in a modern way. Six animated shorts about discrimination and being different. 1. "Daydream" talks about dealing with people with disability. It homes in on the daily life of a father with a daughter whose hands and feet are deformed. 2. "Animal Farm" relies on the rough-and-ready feel of stop-motion clay animation to create a satire of bullying and mob dynamics. 3. "At Her House" paints a devastating picture of gender inequality within a marriage. 4. "Flesh and Bone" gently pillories superficiality and the obsession with outward appearance. 5. "Bicycle Trip" focuses on the discrimination experienced by foreign workers in Korea. 6. "Be a Human Being" looks at the way young Koreans are barely treated as human beings before they get to university. (Source: ANIWEBLOG, ASIANDB, Jeonju)
