A News is the name of local newscasts on the A television system in Canada. A News programming was produced in markets which were not directly served by a local CTV News service. The cable-only A Atlantic service in Atlantic Canada did not produce its own A News programming, but instead presently airs CTV News programming from CTV Atlantic, although the station did produce a local morning show, Breakfast Television and was subsequently re-branded to CTV Morning Live on August 29, 2011,. Due to the effects of the 2009 economic crisis The A station in Ottawa cancelled all A News programming in March 2009, but continued to produce a local morning show, A Morning which was also re-branded as CTV Morning Live on August 29, 2011. When A re-launched as CTV Two, on August 29, 2011, newscasts on the A stations were re-branded as CTV News and longer have separate identities, although the stations have retained the same editorial independence.

ABC 2000 Today is ABC News's coverage of New Year's Eves around the world. Part of the 2000 Today programming in the United States, Peter Jennings anchored the 23 hours and 10 minutes of broadcast in Times Square Studios in Manhattan, New York. ABC temporarily converted the Good Morning America marquee broadcast studio into a type of "millennium command center" that included a desk, where a standing Jennings spent most of his time, two lounge chairs, where Jennings would interview guests, a large screen with a time-zone included map of the world, a wall of clocks, and a makeshift newsroom where ABC News staffers would follow the latest developments.

ABC News and Current Affairs is the name of the division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that controls content classified as news, public affairs and business and finance. ABC Scope is a public affairs program that appeared on the ABC television network from 1964–1968, hosted by Howard K. Smith, the future anchor of the ABC Evening News. News reporters Louis Rukeyser, Frank Reynolds and John Scali also appeared. The program provided its viewer with an in-depth look at the important political, economic and social issues that the world faced in the mid-to-late 1960s. Although Smith hosted the show, the program provided its audience with one-on-one interviews of important newsmakers, documentaries on various subjects and roundtable discussions between a group of experts.

ABS-CBN Insider was a late-night news program anchored by Atty. Dong Puno and Ces Oreña-Drilon. The show was aired on ABS-CBN until June 30, 2006 and was replaced by Bandila. The program began on July 28, 2003 anchored by Karen Davila, Cito Beltran and Erwin Tulfo. Its first features were inside stories of the Oakwood Mutiny which transpired a day before.

AM America is a morning news program produced by ABC in an attempt to compete with the highly rated Today on NBC. The show never found an audience after its premiere on January 6, 1975. Lasting just under ten months, its final installment aired on October 31. The program's concept was based on Ralph Story's AM, the local morning show on the network's owned-and-operated Los Angeles station KABC-TV. Like Today, AM America employed two hosts and a news anchor. ABC chose Bill Beutel, who was co-anchor of Eyewitness News on the network's New York City flagship station WABC-TV, and Stephanie Edwards from Ralph Story's AM to host the program. Peter Jennings, who at the time was ABC's Washington correspondent, provided the news reports. One notable episode of AM America aired on April 25, 1975, when members of the British comedy troupe Monty Python made one of their earliest appearances on American television. Edwards quit the show by the end of May, and Beutel followed her out a few months later. On November 3, the Monday following its final broadcast, AM America was replaced by Good Morning America.

APTN National News is the Canadian national news program aired by the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. It is broadcast from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The program formerly aired in two daily editions: APTN National News Daytime aired at 12:30 p.m., and APTN National News Primetime aired at 6:30 p.m. The program now produces only a single full edition each day, which airs at 6 and 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time nightly with short headline news updates at the top of the hour during the afternoon. The program's current anchors are Michael Hutchinson and Cheryl McKenzie. In September 2009, two current affairs shows, APTN InFocus and APTN Investigates launched. In addition to its main newsroom in Winnipeg, APTN National News has news bureaus in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver, Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Whitehorse. News and current affairs staff at APTN applied for and received union certification with the Canadian Media Guild from the Canadian Labour Board in 2002. Unionized staff reached its first collective agreement with APTN management in April 2003. On June 8, 2012, award-winning journalist Karyn Pugliese was appointed as the director of news and current affairs for APTN. Pugliese previously worked as the Ottawa correspondent for APTN National News from 2000 to 2006.

ATV Midlands News was a regional television news and current affairs programme, produced by ATV, serving the Midlands area of England. First broadcast on Monday 7 May 1956, ATV Midlands News was one of the first daily regional news services on British television, originally consisting of a short early evening bulletin of local headlines read by Patricia Cox with stories often sourced from the Birmingham Evening Dispatch, a local newspaper. Film footage of news and events was later introduced to the bulletins and shot by Birmingham Commercial Films, an independent company which specialised in providing newsreel and stock footage. From 1958, the nightly Midlands News bulletins were supplemented by Midland Montage, a weekly topical magazine programme presented by Leslie Dunn and ATV continuity announcer Pat Astley. A year later, ATV set up its own news film unit for both programmes. In October 1964, following pressure from the Independent Television Authority to improve regional coverage, ATV introduced a nightly news magazine programme, ATV Today, which supplemented and eventually superseded the Midlands News bulletins in 1969. ATV Midlands continued providing Midlands news coverage within both ATV Today and shorter ATV News bulletins until 31 December 1981.
