Midlands Today is the BBC's regional television news programme for the West Midlands. Midlands Today began on 28 September 1964, from a small studio in Broad Street, Birmingham.

The BBC News at Five is an hour long news programme broadcast every weekday at 17:00 on BBC News. The programme is fronted by BBC News at Ten presenter Huw Edwards from Monday-Thursday, and Newsnight presenter Gavin Esler on Friday. The show includes a detailed look at the news, as well as analysis with guests and business, sport and weather updates.

The BBC News at One is the afternoon news bulletin from the BBC. Produced by BBC News, the programme is broadcast on BBC One and the BBC News channel every weekday at 1:00pm. The programme is usually presented by Sian Williams every Monday and Sophie Raworth from Tuesday to Friday. The BBC News at One achieved an average reach of 2.7 million viewers per bulletin in 2007, making it the most watched programme on UK daytime television.

The BBC News at Six is the evening news programme broadcast each night on British television channel BBC One and the BBC News channel at 18:00. For a long period the News at Six was the most watched news programme in the UK but since 2006 it has been over taken by the BBC News at Ten. On average it pulls in 4 million viewers. George Alagiah is currently the main presenter, presenting Monday to Thursday, while Fiona Bruce is its Friday presenter. Other BBC News presenters, including Sophie Raworth, Mishal Husain and Sian Williams also appear. In late 2007 the length of the programme was shortened from 30 minutes to 28 minutes to allow for a news summary being shown on BBC One at 7:58pm.

The BBC News at Ten is the flagship evening news programme for British television channel BBC One and the BBC News channel. It is presented by Huw Edwards, and deputised by Fiona Bruce. It is the final comprehensive news programme of the day on BBC One. The programme was controversially moved from 9:00pm on 16 October 2000. It is broadcast Monday to Sunday at 10:00pm. It features twenty-five minutes of British national and international news, with an emphasis on the latter. On weekdays, it incorporates around seven minutes of news from the BBC regions around the country at approx 10:25pm to 10:30pm, which is then followed by a national weather forecast. During the first three months of its revival, ITV News at Ten averaged 2.2 million viewers compared with an average of 4.8 million viewers watching the BBC bulletin over the same period. The BBC News at Ten is currently the most watched news programme in Britain, averaging 4.9 million viewers each night.

BBC Newsline is the BBC's regional television news service for Northern Ireland. The programme is broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland from BBC Northern Ireland's headquarters in Broadcasting House, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast. As well as being available via all multi-channel outlets in Northern Ireland, the programme can be accessed by the rest of the United Kingdom on the BBC iPlayer, or alternatively on Sky channel 973. Viewers from the Republic of Ireland with a Sky subscription can also watch on Sky channel 141. As the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service is broadcast unencrypted, it is possible to receive BBC Newsline anywhere in Europe using an appropriate receiver.

The BBC Nine O'Clock News was the flagship BBC News programme. It was launched on 14 September 1970 and ran until 15 October 2000, when it was controversially replaced by the BBC Ten O'Clock News.

BBC North West Tonight is a nightly regional news programme covering North West England and the Isle of Man. Produced by BBC North West, the programme airs at 6.30pm and at 10:25pm every weekday evening and is broadcast from the BBC's MediaCityUK studios at Salford Quays.

BBC Points West is the BBC's regional news programme for the West of England, covering Bristol, the majority of Wiltshire, northern and eastern Somerset and southern Gloucestershire. Produced by BBC West, the programme is produced from the BBC Broadcasting Centre at Whiteladies Road, Bristol with reporters also based at newsrooms in Bath, Gloucester, Swindon and Taunton. The main presenters are Alex Lovell, David Garmston and Amanda Parr.

Spotlight is the BBC's regional news programme for the southwest of England, covering Cornwall, Devon, southern and western Somerset, western Dorset and the Channel Islands. There is also a special version of the programme for viewers in the Channel Islands. The main version of the programme broadcasts between 18:30 and 18:58 on weekdays, with shorter bulletins at other times. The programme can be viewed anywhere in the UK on Sky channel 967/968 on the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service. Its main competitors are ITV West Country's main evening programme ITV News West Country in Cornwall, Devon, southern Somerset and western Dorset and ITV Channel Television's main evening programme ITV News Channel TV in the Channel Islands. Spotlight is broadcast from BBC Broadcasting House in Seymour Road, Plymouth - this is the main headquarters for all BBC South West programming, on TV, radio and online. There are also smaller studios in Barnstaple, Exeter, Paignton, Taunton and Truro.

Wales Today is the BBC's national news programme for Wales, broadcast on BBC One Wales from the headquarters of BBC Wales in Llandaff, Cardiff. According to the BBC, it is the world's longest-running television news programme. The programme can be watched in any part of the UK on digital satellite channel 972 on the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service. BBC Weekend News is the BBC's national news programmes on BBC One at the weekend and bank holidays, although it is often referred to on guides simply as BBC News. It is called BBC Weekend News on all bulletins apart from being broadcast on Weekend at the 10:00pm hour, where it is named the BBC News at Ten.

BBC World News is the standard news bulletin featuring the latest international news broadcast throughout most of the day on BBC World News. Some editions also feature brief business and sport reports as well. A brief weather report is given at the end of each broadcast.

BET Nightly News was the main newscast of the Black Entertainment Television network. The newscast covered national and international news stories from a black perspective. The program ran for four years, ending in July 2005. The nightly newscast was replaced by a new format, which included hourly updates and on-line supplements. Past anchors of the newscast included Michelle Miller and Jacque Reid. The executive producer of the program was Will J. Wright.
