Many of the storylines centered around the love triangle involving Miles Silverstone, his girlfriend Anya Vicenze, and his brother Chris, who had an eye for Anya. Another major plotline was that of Tally's "celeb" mother, whom Tally constantly boasted about but who never came to visit. Another major plotline was that of Bethan and the County running team and qualifying for it.

The show, a production of the Children's Television Workshop, teaches scientific principles and their applications. Dr. Edward G. Atkins, who was responsible for much of the scientific content of the show, felt that the TV program wouldn't replace a classroom but would open the viewers to ask questions about the scientific purpose of things.

3-2-1 Contact Extra is a collection of documentary‑style specials produced by the Children’s Television Workshop as an extension of the science series 3‑2‑1 Contact. The 35th Masked Rider Anniversary File is Kamen Rider's equivalent to the Super Sentai Series' The 30 Sentai Encyclopedia, a series of featurettes that aired at the end of each episode of GoGo Sentai Boukenger, the Super Sentai show which aired alongside Kamen Rider Kabuto celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Super Sentai Series. This segment acted as a look back to the Kamen Rider franchise and an early advertisement for the God Speed Love movie. During these five segments, the characters discuss the history of the Kamen Rider franchise, sometimes in a comedic tone, but always with serious background music. Like the Sentai Encyclopedia, the Anniversary File is not included as part of Kabuto on home video or streaming.

50/50 was a British children's game show that was broadcast on BBC1. It was broadcast from 7 April 1997 to 12 July 2005. Two schools in the UK put forward 50 students, each child given a number from 1–50 which they wear during the show, before each round a random number generator picks which students will take part in the next game. The t-shirt colours were originally green and orange but this was changed to blue and yellow. They sit opposite each other in raised seating while the game takes place in between them. Most of the children will not get an opportunity to play in a game, but there are question rounds and observation rounds where points are won by the number of correct answers. The games usually consist of inflatable obstacle courses similar to those found in Get Your Own Back, Fun House and Run the Risk.
