A little girl is told a fairy tale about a little bug who doesn't know what she should do with her life as she explores the big, wondrous world. Based on the story by Dmitriy Mamin-Sibiryak.

Once upon a time there was a happy kingdom at the crest of a broad river, at the edge of nearly endless forest. The kingdom was ruled by a fair and just King who had but one daughter, who was the apple of his eye: Princess Angela. She thought of herself as the happiest girl in the whole world because she played all day and danced for her father, the King, at night. But one day all happiness in the kingdom came to an end. Princess Angela was kidnapped by the King's Viceroy. The Viceroy left Angela with his brother, a selfish and mean-hearted woodsman, who lived deep in the heart of the nearly endless forest. Years passed and the kingdom became a very unhappy place, for the King spent all his time looking searching from one end of his vast kingdom to the other looking for his daughter, Princess Angela.

A wistful little “story-spirit” rides the wind to a child’s doorstep and invites her on a whistle-stop tour through the Latvian seasons. Guided by a gentle water sprite, they drift from spring showers and blue-flower meadows to roaring Midsummer bonfires, stormy autumn seas, and snow-bright winter nights. The imagery—pastel cut-out shapes that melt and reform—visualises verses by the poet Aspazija, while Zigmars Liepiņš’s folk-inflected score (sung by Mirdza Zīvere) turns the whole trip into a lullaby on loop: every tale enchants for a moment, then must move on to the next open doorway. In the end the child waves goodbye, knowing the fairy-tale will return whenever imagination cracks the door again.

After a wolf quit his role in the Little Red Riding Hood story, Loopy takes over, but unfortunately for him, a lot of drama happens, so much so that Loopy is thrown out from his role.

Mistress Hen has a lot of worries every day. She needs to feed the chickens, take them to kindergarten, clean, iron, and prepare dinner. But how to cook something without salt? Hen goes to the neighbor Goose to borrow salt, but she asks to do her a favour. A simple request triggers a whole cascade of favours that must be arranged to get...salt. The cartoon satirically mirrors the rampant barter and blat in the poor Soviet society of the late "stagnation" era.

A simple story of endless toil between a servant, a sultan, and the feast on the table between them.
A story set in a world before ours. A world in chaos where forces of good and evil fight and mingle. By doing so, it creates the chance to give birth to the new world. A couple of winged beings make love and fly away. They bear a child in an egg, and when the child opens its eyes they are immediately destroyed, one consumed by fire and the other by water. Mythical, elemental and mysterious, the world created by Tsuji is dangerous, menacing and suffuse with signs of apocalypse, but somehow simultaneously tender and compassionate. A Feather Stare at the Dark captures simple gestures and primal feelings and amplifies them, realising the non-verbal and non-literal with remarkable grace.

In this animated short, a woman, taking on her lover's fantasies, adorns herself in her finest feathers and assumes a seductive but demeaning role. Caught up in his own game, the man plays on to the bitter end--a cruel game in which love is stripped of its golden glow, leaving only the naked reality of dependency and desperation.
